Attack on Titan 1

For a century, humanity had known a fragile peace, nestled behind three colossal walls - Maria, Rose, and Sina - that stretched towards the heavens, shielding them from the monstrous, humanoid Titans. These grotesque giants, whose sole purpose seemed to be the consumption of human flesh, had driven mankind to the brink of extinction long ago. Within the outermost wall, Wall Maria, life in the Shiganshina District was mundane, yet safe, a life Eren Yeager yearned to break free from. He dreamed of the outside world, of oceans and deserts, a stark contrast to his best friend Armin Arlert's intellectual curiosity and his adopted sister Mikasa Ackerman's quiet, protective devotion.

That illusory peace shattered one fateful day. The sky above Shiganshina darkened, not with storm clouds, but with the shadow of a hand reaching over Wall Maria. A Colossal Titan, unlike any seen before, impossibly tall and seemingly intelligent, breached the wall with a single, devastating kick, sending debris and terror raining down upon the district. Through the gaping hole, a horde of smaller, grotesque Titans poured in, their vacant stares and hungry grins a prelude to the carnage.

Amidst the chaos, Eren, Mikasa, and Armin found themselves caught in a nightmare. Eren watched, helpless and screaming, as a grinning Titan seized his mother from the rubble of their home, devouring her before his eyes. The memory of her last, desperate moments seared itself into his young mind, igniting a furious, unyielding hatred. The horror of that day, the sheer brutality and the helplessness of humanity, fueled a burning vow within him: he would exterminate every last Titan from the face of the earth.

The survivors of Shiganshina, those fortunate enough to escape the initial onslaught, were forced to retreat behind Wall Rose, their lives forever scarred by the breach of Wall Maria. Resources dwindled, and the government, in a grim act of desperation, sent many refugees, including Eren's family friends, on a futile mission to reclaim the lost territory, only for them to be wiped out by the Titans. This stark reality cemented Eren's resolve.

Driven by his insatiable thirst for vengeance, Eren, alongside Mikasa, who remained fiercely loyal and protective, and Armin, who despite his physical weakness possessed a brilliant strategic mind, enlisted in the military. Their path led them to the rigorous and unforgiving training of the 104th Cadet Corps. Here, they honed their skills, learning to wield the intricate Vertical Maneuvering Equipment, a device that allowed soldiers to zip through the air and strike at the Titans' weak points.

The training was brutal, a constant reminder of the world they were preparing to face. Eren, though impulsive and hot-headed, pushed himself relentlessly, fueled by the haunting image of his mother's death. Mikasa, with her unparalleled combat prowess, often intervened to save him from his own rash decisions. Armin, despite his struggles with the physical demands, proved his worth with his sharp intellect and tactical insights.

Five years after the fall of Shiganshina, the cadets faced their first true test in the city of Trost, located within Wall Rose. The peace was shattered once more, this time by the reappearance of the Colossal Titan, breaching Wall Rose and unleashing another wave of fear and destruction. The desperate battle for Trost began, throwing the young recruits into a terrifying struggle for survival against the very monsters Eren had sworn to eradicate. This was not a world of heroes, but of brutal, sudden deaths, a grim testament to the overwhelming power of the Titans.
