In a small back alley in Tokyo, there is a café that has served carefully brewed coffee for more than one hundred years. But this coffee shop offers its customers a unique experience: the chance to travel back in time. The offer is tempting, but the journey is governed by a strict set of rules. Patrons must sit in a particular seat, they cannot leave the café, and they can only meet people who have also visited. Most importantly, they must return to the present before their coffee gets cold.

Over the course of one summer, four visitors take a seat in the fabled chair, each hoping to resolve a matter of the heart. They seek to confront a lover, retrieve a letter from a husband losing his memory, see a sister one last time, and meet a daughter they never knew. Yet, with the knowledge that nothing they do in the past can change the present, the true purpose of their journey is called into question. This experience explores the age-old query of what we would do if we could go back, and reveals how the most important discoveries are not about altering the past, but about transforming the future.
