Behold the Monster

Jillian Lauren embarked on a journey to uncover the truth behind Samuel Little, America's most prolific serial killer, driven by the conviction that he was responsible for far more murders than his convictions indicated. Through dozens of letters and hundreds of hours of interviews, Lauren navigated a complex relationship with the incarcerated killer, leading to his confessions for the murders of ninety-three women across the country. He often provided hauntingly detailed drawings of his victims as he spoke.

This book provides a harrowing account of how one man evaded justice for over four decades, manipulating the system. It goes beyond the killer's actions to illuminate the lives of the women who were lost to cold files, ensuring their stories are heard for the first time. The narrative reveals the personal and psychological toll of confronting such darkness while also exposing systemic issues that contributed to these women being forgotten.
