Constituciones y períodos constituyentes en España. (1808-1936)

Readers consistently praise the book for its utility as a study aid, particularly for exams, and its ability to offer a concise yet theoretically refined overview of Spanish constitutional history. It is described as engaging, easy to read, and well-explained, making it a convenient resource to keep close at hand. The book's conclusions are considered clarifying and insightful, representing a significant theoretical contribution, with its core arguments remaining relevant even decades after its initial publication. It provides a synoptic vision of Spanish constitutionalism and is noted for debunking certain historical myths regarding power transitions and the role of the aristocracy.

The primary critique of the book is its brevity, with some readers finding it too succinct. Additionally, due to its original publication date, it does not cover the current 1978 constitution, which is a practical limitation for those seeking a comprehensive understanding of contemporary Spanish constitutionalism. While this is a factual limitation rather than a flaw in content, it means readers looking for analysis of the most recent constitutional period will need to consult other sources.

Overall, this book is highly recommended for anyone seeking a concise, well-explained, and theoretically insightful overview of Spanish constitutional history. It is particularly suitable for students, academics, and readers interested in the historical development of political power in Spain, as well as those looking for a foundational text on the theoretical interpretations of its democratic evolution. While its brevity and pre-1978 publication date mean it doesn't cover the most recent constitutional period, its enduring relevance and clarifying analysis make it a valuable resource for understanding the complexities of the nation's political past.
