Der Geheimcode

This graphic novel adaptation is widely praised as an enjoyable and engaging continuation of the series, with many reviewers noting that the adaptations are improving with each volume. Readers appreciated the sharp pacing, quick story progression, and the cool, energetic graphics. The clear character distinction, aided by detailed art and color-coded speech captions, was frequently highlighted. Many found it to be an excellent and concise translation of the original novel, offering a fun and accessible way to revisit the world and its characters. The story itself was lauded as a wonderful adventure, blending high-tech schemes with a magical underground world, with several reviewers considering this installment superior to its predecessors.

While largely positive, some reviewers did voice concerns regarding the art style and presentation. Common criticisms included the coloring being too dark for some preferences and the overall art style feeling gritty, sometimes inconsistent, or even "sloppier" in later pages. Specific character designs, particularly for male figures and women's hair, were occasionally described as repetitive or peculiar. A notable point of frustration for some readers was the small page format of the graphic novel, which made it challenging to fully appreciate the intricate details of the illustrations. Additionally, some felt the story's pacing could be slow in parts, particularly towards the end, or that the main character was not sufficiently central to the plot. A few also noted a general feeling of repetitiveness creeping into the series.

Overall, this graphic novel adaptation is considered a strong and enjoyable installment in the series. It is highly recommended for fans of fantasy fiction that blends technology with magic, offering adventure, action, and cliffhangers. Reviewers suggest it is suitable for a wide range of ages, from pre-teens and young adults to older readers, and is particularly ideal for those who have enjoyed the original novels and are looking for a quick, engaging way to revisit the world. Despite some critiques regarding the artistic execution or formatting, the compelling story, character growth, and overall entertainment value make it a recommended read for enthusiasts of imaginative, fast-paced adventures.
