In the small town of Flint City, the brutal murder of an eleven-year-old boy leads to a swift and public arrest. All the evidence - from fingerprints to eyewitness accounts and DNA - points to Terry Maitland, a beloved husband, father, and Little League coach. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose own son was once coached by Maitland, is certain he has his man. The case appears to be ironclad, a straightforward investigation into an unthinkable crime that has shattered the community's sense of safety.

But just as quickly as the case comes together, it begins to unravel.
