This Winter immerses readers in a challenging Christmas Day with the Spring siblings: Tori, Charlie, and Oliver. Charlie has recently returned from a psychiatric ward after grappling with anorexia and a self-harm relapse, making the festive season particularly difficult for him and his family. As relatives gather, the delicate balance of recovery is tested by unspoken tensions and well-meaning but often insensitive comments.

The novella explores the complexities of family dynamics and mental health with sensitivity, offering insights from the perspectives of each sibling as they navigate a day fraught with emotion and the struggle for understanding. It highlights the importance of empathy and open communication amidst the pressures of a holiday that is not always joyful.
