Healing Is the New High A Guide to Overcoming Emotional Turmoil and Finding Freedom

Many reviewers enthusiastically praise the book as a truly amazing and transformative read, highlighting its profound positive impact on readers' lives. It is frequently recommended for individuals navigating anxiety, difficult breakups, or past traumatic experiences, offering a sense of peace and relief. Readers appreciate the author's ability to explain complex concepts beautifully and in an easy-to-understand yet deep manner. The book is lauded for providing actual, practical exercises and guidance that help change thought processes, evaluate past events, and offer fresh perspective. Many describe it as akin to having therapy in a book, helping them find themselves and heal personal traumas and insecurities. Its engaging and articulate writing style, often accompanied by lovely illustrations, makes it an enjoyable and often unputdownable read.

Despite widespread acclaim, some readers expressed reservations or found aspects of the book less impactful. A recurring comment was that the book, particularly its introduction and some chapters, leaned more towards an autobiography or a recollection of the author's experiences helping others, which some felt lacked direct connectivity to the book's stated purpose. Concerns were also raised about an initial tone that felt misaligned with the title and description, and the inclusion of certain principles as a foundational element, which surprised some. For those already well-versed in self-help literature, a few reviewers found the content to be repetitive or to offer guidance that felt like common sense. There were also mentions of negative undertones in certain parts or a perception that the book was "too spiritual" for some tastes, despite the author's stated intentions for broad relatability. Some felt the exercises, while present, were not always inspiring or that the book essentially served as a "watered down reminder" to seek professional therapy for deeper issues.

Overall, the book appears to be a highly effective and uplifting resource for a significant portion of its readership, particularly those new to self-help or seeking practical tools for emotional healing and personal growth. It is especially recommended for individuals embarking on a healing journey, looking to address past traumas or insecurities, and wanting clear, actionable steps to cultivate a more positive mindset. While some experienced self-help readers might find parts less revolutionary, the book consistently delivers on providing comfort, perspective, and tangible exercises. Its aesthetic appeal and relatable writing style contribute to its accessibility. Potential readers should approach it as a guide offering practical self-reflection and meditative practices, rather than an in-depth exploration of complex trauma, and be open to a blend of personal anecdotes and wisdom.
