Kick-Ass

What happens when an ordinary teenager, armed with nothing but a mail-order wetsuit and a love for comic books, decides to become a real-life superhero? Dave Lizewski is about to find out. With no powers, no training, and no clue, he christens himself "Kick-Ass" and takes to the streets to fight crime. His first outing ends with a brutal beating and a trip to the hospital, proving that reality is much harsher than the four-color fantasies he grew up reading.

But when a video of his ill-advised heroism goes viral, Dave becomes an unlikely internet phenomenon. He soon discovers he is not alone in his costumed crusade, crossing paths with a fearless, pint-sized vigilante named Hit-Girl and her heavily armed father, Big Daddy. Their lethal war against a powerful crime family pulls Dave out of his amateur antics and into a world of genuine danger and unforgiving consequences. This story explores the brutal, messy, and often darkly comedic space between comic book fantasy and the violent reality of being a hero.
