L’épreuve

Still disguised as a boy, Alanna of Trebond serves as squire to Prince Jonathan, the heir to the throne. Their bond is not only one of duty but also deep friendship, with Jonathan being one of the few aware of Alanna's true identity. As Alanna navigates her rigorous training and the complexities of court life, she finds herself facing a looming threat: a malevolent sorcerer, Duke Roger, whose ambition endangers the prince and the entire realm.

Chosen by the Great Mother Goddess, Alanna is warned of three trials she must overcome: the demanding Ordeal of Knighthood, the challenges of love, and the sinister machinations of Duke Roger. To protect those she cares for and realize her dream of becoming a knight, Alanna must master her burgeoning magical abilities and summon every ounce of courage, even if it means risking the revelation of her true self and defying the expectations of her world. This journey is about Alanna's unwavering resolve to forge her own path and stand against overwhelming odds.
