Le dernier vol

Reviewers largely commend this book as a unique, poignant, and breathtaking page-turner that stands out from other thrillers. Many found it to be an emotional, thought-provoking, and moving piece of women's fiction, praising its riveting and fast-paced narrative that keeps readers hooked from the very first chapter. The story is frequently described as addictive and unputdownable, with its dual plot lines flowing seamlessly and remaining easy to follow despite alternating perspectives. Readers consistently highlight the strong, well-developed female characters, Claire and Eva, finding them believable, vulnerable, and easy to root for. The writing style is lauded as excellent and taut, delivering clever twists and unexpected developments that lead to a satisfying and powerful conclusion.

Despite much praise, some reviewers expressed reservations, particularly regarding the plot's plausibility and pacing. Certain aspects of the storyline, especially involving Eva's background, were found to be less compelling or even boring by some readers after the initial strong setup. Critics noted that the premise often relies on improbable coincidences, requiring a significant suspension of disbelief, and some found the twists predictable. Concerns were also raised about character decisions that seemed illogical. Additionally, Eva's portrayal garnered mixed reactions, with some reviewers feeling she played the victim without taking responsibility for her actions, and others found the book's handling of a sensitive theme to be cavalier or triggering.

Overall, the book is considered a compelling and generally enjoyable read, often described as a solid and formidable addition to the psychological thriller genre. While not universally a five-star read, many found it highly engaging despite its flaws. This book is likely to appeal most to readers who appreciate fast-paced, character-driven psychological thrillers featuring strong female protagonists and themes of escape and empowerment. It will resonate with those who enjoy clever narratives and emotional depth within a suspenseful story, and who are willing to overlook some plot improbabilities for an immersive reading experience.
