Le Silence des repentis

For eight years, Cooper and his young daughter, Finch, have lived in profound isolation in a remote cabin nestled deep in the northern Appalachian woods. This secluded existence, devoid of electricity and connection to the outside world, is precisely what Cooper desires, safeguarding a secret that compelled him to flee with Finch when she was an infant. Their only links to civilization are Cooper's old military friend, Jake, who delivers essential supplies once a year, and their enigmatic neighbor, Scotland, who observes them from a distance.

When Jake fails to arrive for his annual visit, the delicate balance of their hidden life shatters, forcing Cooper to confront the possibility of venturing into a world he desperately sought to escape. As Finch begins to question the boundaries of their sheltered existence and a stranger unexpectedly appears in their woods, Cooper's past - haunted by wartime experiences and the choices he made - threatens to unravel the carefully constructed haven he built for his daughter. This story explores the fierce bond between a father and child, the weight of concealed truths, and the lengths one will go to protect what they hold most dear.
