Maximum Ride - Manga

Fourteen-year-old Maximum Ride and her flock are anything but ordinary. Genetically engineered to be ninety-eight percent human and two percent bird, they grew up in a lab called The School, until they escaped and found a fragile freedom. They are a family, bound not by blood, but by their shared past and the wings that allow them to soar above the world. This life, however, can shift into a nightmare at any moment, and for Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, and the Gasman, that nightmare becomes real when the youngest of their group, Angel, is captured by vicious, wolf-like creatures known as Erasers.

To save her, the flock must return to the one place they swore they would never go back to: The School. The journey will force them to confront the scientists who created them and fight for their survival against the relentless Erasers. As they delve deeper into the secrets of their own existence, Max begins to uncover a purpose far greater than she could have ever imagined.
