Murder Road

The honeymoon was supposed to start at a lakeside resort, not with blood soaking through the back seat. In July 1995, newlyweds April and Eddie Carter take a wrong turn in the Michigan dark and wind up on Atticus Line, where a lone girl stumbles out of the trees and collapses into their car. Behind them, headlights bear down fast. By the time they reach the hospital in Coldlake Falls, the girl is dead, and the police see only two convenient strangers. Girls have been dying along that road for decades. To clear their names, April and Eddie must stay and dig, even as something hungry and watchful on Atticus Line starts to notice them.
