Oshi no Ko 02

In a quiet town, far from the neon glow of Tokyo, Gorou Amemiya lives a life of sterile routine. A gynecologist by trade, his days are measured and predictable, a stark contrast to the dazzling world he secretly inhabits as a fan. His obsession is the idol Ai Hoshino, the radiant center of the pop group B-Komachi. This devotion is not entirely his own; it is a legacy inherited from Sarina, a young patient who passed away, leaving him with her passion for Ai's perfect smile and star-filled eyes. He chants along at concerts, waves his glow stick with practiced fervor, and finds a strange comfort in the manufactured perfection she represents.

Then, the impossible happens. Into his rural clinic walks Ai Hoshino herself, sixteen years old, hiding from the world, and pregnant with twins. The perfect idol, the girl who sells dreams, is carrying a secret that could shatter her career. For Gorou, the fan collides with the doctor. His duty is clear: to protect her privacy and ensure a safe delivery. He promises to see her through it, to be there when her children are born, never imagining the night of their birth would also be the night of his death. Pushed from a cliff by a shadowy stalker, his last sight is of the night sky, a single star burning brightly, just like the ones in Ai's eyes.

Darkness, then light. A voice, sweet as spun sugar, coos above him. He feels helpless, small, his limbs refusing his commands. He opens his eyes and sees a giant, beautiful face - it is Ai. The star in her pupil shines down on him. The horrifying, unbelievable truth dawns: he has been reborn as her son. He is Hoshino Aquamarine. And he is not alone. Lying beside him is his twin sister, Ruby, whose fiery spirit and uncanny familiarity soon reveal her own secret. She is the reincarnation of Sarina, his former patient. Together, the two of them - a cynical doctor and a hopeful young girl - are now the children of the idol they once worshipped from afar.

Their new life is a surreal spectacle. Two grown minds trapped in infant bodies, they become silent observers of the woman behind the idol. They see Ai not as a goddess on a stage, but as a teenage mother trying her best. They watch her struggle with diapers, practice her lines for television dramas, and navigate the treacherous currents of the entertainment industry under the guidance of her agent, Ichigo Saitou. It is a life built on secrets, a fragile domestic bliss hidden from the cameras and the ravenous public.

But the closer they get, the more they understand the profound lie at the heart of Ai's existence. Her smile is a shield, her affection a performance honed over years of needing to be loved. She confesses to them one night, believing them to be uncomprehending babies, that she has never truly loved anyone, that she doesn't understand the feeling. “For me, lies are the most exquisite form of love,” she whispers. Yet, for them, she tries. She holds them, sings to them, and looks in the mirror, practicing the words, hoping that one day, when she says “I love you,” it will finally be true.

The years of quiet happiness are fleeting. The twins are four years old, their life having settled into a comfortable rhythm, when a knock echoes through their new apartment. Ai opens the door to a deliveryman - the very same stalker who murdered Gorou, his obsession having festered into a murderous rage. He was given this address, this private, sacred space, by someone who knew Ai's secrets. He lunges, a blade flashing in the light of the hallway.

Aqua and Ruby can only watch in horror as their mother collapses, a crimson stain spreading across her idol costume. As her life drains away on the cold floor, Ai looks at her children, her precious, secret treasures. The purple stars in her eyes, once symbols of a beautiful lie, now fill with a truth she has only just discovered. The practiced words she could never mean suddenly become real, filled with all the desperate, genuine love of a mother leaving her children behind. “I love you,” she says, her voice a faint whisper. “Ah, this time… I really mean it.”

The aftermath is a storm of media speculation and hollow condolences. At Ai's funeral, Aqua, his child's face a mask of cold composure, pieces together the terrible puzzle. The stalker was a symptom; the disease was the person who guided his hand. Someone in their circle, someone with intimate knowledge of Ai's life, fed him the information that led him to their door. The prime suspect: their unknown father, a figure in the entertainment industry.

Grief curdles into a cold, burning purpose. The world of idols and actors, once a source of light and fascination, is now a hunting ground. Aqua casts aside the last vestiges of Gorou Amemiya and the innocence of his new childhood. He will not rest, will not allow himself to feel, until he uncovers the truth. He will enter that world of lies, walk among the smiling predators, and find the man responsible for his mother's death. He will use the stage not for applause, but for revenge.
