Paternidad incondicional como educar con amor y razon o amar al hijo, no su conducta

The book is widely lauded as a transformative and revolutionary guide that fundamentally reshapes parenting perspectives. Many readers found it game-changing, inspiring them to deeply reconsider conventional wisdom regarding discipline, rewards, and punishments. Reviewers frequently praise its insightful arguments, which are often backed by research, for promoting unconditional love and fostering intrinsic motivation in children. The book encourages parents to treat children as whole individuals, prioritize the parent-child relationship, and cultivate empathy, kindness, and confidence. It is celebrated for helping parents move away from traditional behavior modification techniques that felt ineffective or counterintuitive, instead advocating for a more harmonious and trusting family dynamic.

However, the book also draws significant criticism, particularly for its tone. Many reviewers describe it as overly strident, critical, and even "mommier-than-thou" in its denouncement of other parenting philosophies. A common complaint is that the author focuses extensively on what not to do, leaving readers frustrated by a perceived lack of concrete, practical advice or clear alternatives. The guidance provided is often described as vague, theoretical, or difficult to apply to specific situations. Some readers felt the book’s method of citing research was selective or shoddy, and that its arguments were at times simplistic or deterministic. Several reviewers also expressed discomfort with the book’s strong stance against practices like praise and timeouts, arguing that these can be used appropriately, and felt that the book made parents feel inadequate without offering sufficient solutions.

Despite these criticisms, many readers ultimately found the book’s core message compelling and valuable for shifting their parenting approach. It is highly recommended for parents who are open-minded, willing to challenge deeply ingrained assumptions, and committed to building a respectful, empathetic, and unconditionally loving relationship with their children. The book is particularly suited for those who aim to raise intrinsically motivated, kind, and independent individuals, rather than focusing on mere obedience or external validation. Readers should approach this book prepared for a thought-provoking and potentially challenging experience, as it encourages significant self-reflection, and it may not appeal to those seeking prescriptive, quick-fix parenting strategies.
