Sigmund Freud

Reviewers consistently praise this book for its spectacular and witty approach to its subject matter. A major highlight is the accompanying artwork by Ralph Steadman, described as wonderful, beautiful, and captivating pen-and-ink illustrations that offer new details upon repeated viewing and are considered by some to be worth the price of the book alone. The unique focus on Freud's life and sense of humor, particularly through the lens of his work on jokes, makes for an unexpectedly fun and engaging read, offering a clever introduction to his world.

While overwhelmingly positive, some reviewers noted the book's brevity, indicating it can be read in a single sitting. Additionally, one reader felt that several concepts within the text were difficult to fully grasp, suggesting that certain aspects might require a particular understanding or prior knowledge to appreciate entirely.

Overall, this is described as a splendid little book that cleverly blends biographical elements with a unique thematic focus. It comes highly recommended for fans of either Sigmund Freud or Ralph Steadman, and is considered a must-read for those who appreciate both. Readers who enjoy Steadman's distinctive artistic style and those looking for an entertaining and visually rich introduction to Freud's less conventional side are likely to find this work particularly appealing.
