Slugfest

Star athlete Yash Yashenko believes his spot on the high school JV football team is secure until he discovers a state-mandated credit for eighth-grade PE is missing from his record. To graduate middle school, Yash must attend "Slugfest," a summer school Physical Education Equivalency class. He finds himself among an unexpected group of classmates: Kaden, an academic who struggles physically; the constantly feuding twins, Sarah and Stewart; Jesse, a notorious prankster; Arabella, who protests nearly everything; and Cleo, a gifted athlete who no longer participates in sports.

As Yash attempts to navigate this unexpected summer, he learns that one of his fellow "slugs" is determined to uncover a scandal that could invalidate their entire summer school experience. With his football future on the line, Yash must find a way to work with this unlikely crew, leading to surprising friendships and a challenge that none of them anticipated.
