Smaragdgrün

This book, the final installment in a trilogy, is widely praised by many readers as an outstanding and addictive conclusion that offers a fantastic escape from reality. Reviewers frequently highlight its fast-paced, thrilling, and exciting narrative, filled with unexpected twists and turns that kept them guessing. Many found the story well-plotted with a satisfying resolution that tied up loose ends. The characters, including the main couple and secondary figures, were often described as lovable, charming, and entertaining, becoming cherished companions for readers. The humor and wit were particularly appreciated, with some moments eliciting genuine laughter, while the emotional depth resonated deeply with others. The time travel element, despite its inherent complexity, was largely considered a "blast" and a successful aspect of the series, which is also noted for being a good translation from German.

However, the reviews also reveal significant criticisms, particularly concerning the plot and character development. Some readers found the storyline to be confusing, messy, or anticlimactic, with important revelations occurring "off-page" and the overall pacing feeling slow in parts before a rushed ending. The time travel mechanics were deemed inconsistent and illogical by several, leading to frustration. The central romance was a major point of contention; many described it as rushed "insta-love," unbelievable, and overly dramatic, feeling driven by immature teenage angst rather than genuine connection. The main character was frequently criticized for being whiny, mopey, jealous, and overly focused on her love interest, sometimes acting more like a child than a teenager. Her judgmental attitude towards other female characters was also noted as a negative. The male lead was occasionally seen as arrogant or inconsistent, making his romantic feelings unconvincing for some. Additionally, a few reviewers pointed out instances of fat shaming within the narrative.

Overall, this trilogy's conclusion elicits strong, often polarized reactions. It is likely to appeal most to young adult readers who enjoy lighthearted, witty fantasy with time travel, a strong emphasis on romantic relationships, and quirky family dynamics. Readers who appreciate an engaging, escapist story, and are comfortable with some melodrama or plot conveniences, would probably find this book and series enjoyable. Conversely, those seeking deep character development, strictly logical plot mechanics, or a romance free from "insta-love" tropes might find it less satisfying.
