Sometimes I Lie

Amber Reynolds is in a coma. She cannot move, speak, or open her eyes, but she can hear everything. She doesn't remember the accident that put her here, but she has a suspicion her husband had something to do with it. As she lies paralyzed in her hospital bed, she must piece together the truth by listening to the conversations around her and searching through the memories of the week leading up to the incident.

The narrative alternates between her locked-in present, the turbulent days before her accident, and a series of childhood diaries from twenty years ago. Amber knows she must uncover what happened, but she also has a secret of her own: sometimes she lies. This structure forces the reader to question every fact and memory presented, creating a disorienting journey where the line between truth and deception is constantly blurred. The story explores just how dangerous memories can be when you can't trust anyone, least of all yourself.
