Texts from Dog

"My dog sends me texts. Yeah. It's weird." This is the premise of "Texts From Dog," a book that presents text message conversations between a man and his bulldog, Dog. The book compiles these exchanges, primarily occurring while the owner is at work and Dog is at home creating mischief, or even during late-night requests to go outside.

Through these messages, readers witness Dog's personality emerge, from his ongoing conflict with the neighbor's cat, "CatCat," and his alter-ego "BatDog," to his fear of squirrels and perceived battles with household appliances. The humor stems from the imagined, often foul-mouthed, and passive-aggressive exchanges that capture the exasperating and endearing nature of a pet's inner monologue. This collection offers a humorous look at the bond between a man and his text-savvy dog, inviting readers to consider what their own pets might communicate if given a phone.
