The American Roommate Experiment A Novel

Rosie Graham's life is in freefall. She has just quit her stable engineering job to become a full-time romance author, only to be struck with a crippling case of writer's block. As if a looming deadline wasn't enough, a ceiling collapse forces her to take refuge in her best friend's apartment. The plan is simple until she discovers her friend has already lent the space to her cousin, Lucas - the man Rosie has been secretly crushing on via social media. Now, they are accidental roommates, sharing a studio in New York.

Stranded and creatively stalled, Rosie is out of options. When Lucas learns of her predicament, he proposes an unconventional solution: he will take her on a series of experimental dates to spark her romantic inspiration. It's a perfect, if outrageous, plan to help her meet her deadline. But as the lines between their staged dates and genuine connection begin to blur, Rosie realizes her silly online crush is becoming a very real complication. With Lucas's stay in the city having a firm expiration date, she must confront whether risking her heart is worth an experiment that was only ever meant to be temporary.
