The Final Witness

On November 22, 1963, Special Agent Paul Landis was positioned in the follow-up car directly behind President John F. Kennedy's limousine in Dallas. He witnessed the immediate aftermath of the assassination, was present in Trauma Room #1 at Parkland Memorial Hospital when the president was pronounced dead, and traveled on Air Force One with the casket back to Washington, D.C., observing Lyndon Johnson taking the oath of office. Despite filing a report, Landis was never called to testify before the Warren Commission, keeping his critical observations private for sixty years.

This account reveals Landis's indelible experiences and the profound personal impact of that day, which led to his resignation and decades of silence. Only after fifty years did he begin to share his perspective, realizing how his unique, firsthand observations could challenge prevailing narratives and address key questions surrounding the assassination, particularly concerning a crucial piece of evidence. His long-held testimony offers a new dimension to one of American history's most scrutinized events.
