The Ruby Circle

Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a select group of humans tasked with concealing the existence of vampires and protecting human lives. Her job is to maintain the balance, to clean up vampire messes, and to remember that they are unnatural creatures of the night. But after a complicated alliance with a rogue dhampir, Sydney's loyalty is in question, and her career hangs by a thread. Her one chance at redemption is a mission that forces her to question everything she has ever been taught.

To prevent a civil war in the vampire world, Sydney is sent into hiding to protect Moroi princess Jill Dragomir from assassins. Their refuge is the last place anyone would think to look for vampire royalty: a human boarding school in sunny Palm Springs, California. Posing as Jill's sister, Sydney is thrust into a world of human drama and teenage politics, all while secretly guarding her charge. Surrounded by threats and forbidden temptations, she finds that the line between human and monster is far more blurred than she believed, and that the greatest danger might not be from the enemies hunting Jill, but from the secrets she is forced to keep.
