The speculative turn

"The Speculative Turn: Continental Materialism and Realism" marks a significant shift within contemporary continental philosophy, moving beyond traditional text-centered approaches to engage with materialist and realist perspectives. This anthology explores a renewed focus on the nature of reality itself, departing from the idea that philosophical inquiry is limited to the correlation between thought and being.

Edited by Levi Bryant, Nick Srnicek, and Graham Harman, this collection brings together a diverse group of thinkers who contribute to emerging movements such as speculative realism, transcendental materialism, and object-oriented philosophy. It offers a comprehensive overview of the philosophical landscape, presenting various approaches that challenge established paradigms and aim to redefine the scope of continental thought. The book provides a foundation for understanding ongoing debates and future directions in philosophy, positioning itself as a crucial resource for those seeking to engage with current speculative inquiries into existence.
