Vector Mechanics for Engineers

The book receives praise for its effectiveness, particularly in the area of statics, which some readers found to be phenomenal and highly informative. Many engineering students found it to be a very helpful resource, with some explicitly stating it was a good book for studying dynamics. When used alongside a professor's guidance, it was noted to significantly enhance understanding of the subject matter.

Despite its strengths, the book also drew criticism. Some readers found the dynamics section to be less effective, potentially due to the inherent difficulty of the topic itself. A significant point of concern was the book's challenge when attempted without the support of a professor, suggesting it's not ideal for self-study and requires prior foundational knowledge in statics. Some readers expressed strong dislike for the book, and one comment implied that only the summary sections were truly necessary, hinting at potential issues with the overall structure or content of other parts. It was also associated by one reviewer with a "crappy class."

Overall, the reviews present a mixed but generally positive view, with the book's utility often depending on the learning context. It appears to be a strong contender for students seeking a comprehensive resource, especially in statics, and those who benefit from structured classroom instruction. However, individuals attempting to learn solely from the textbook, particularly the dynamics portion, or those without a solid background in statics, might find it particularly challenging. This book would likely be best suited for engineering students enrolled in a course where it is supported by an instructor, rather than for independent study.
