Wilder Girls

For eighteen months, the students of Raxter School for Girls have been under quarantine on their isolated island, victims of a mysterious illness known only as the Tox. It began subtly, claiming teachers, then twisting the bodies of the girls with painful, unpredictable transformations - a second spine, scaled skin, or fused eyes. Cut off from the outside world, with dwindling supplies and the mutated wilderness pressing in, the remaining girls cling to a fragile existence within the school's fences.

When Hetty's best friend, Byatt, vanishes, Hetty and her friend Reese are forced to break quarantine and venture into the dangerous, transformed woods to find her. Their desperate search uncovers unsettling truths about the Tox, their confinement, and the real reason they are trapped on the island.
