High Fidelity (TV Tie-in)

For Rob Fleming, the owner of a London record shop, life is a series of top-five lists. He can tell you his top-five Elvis Costello songs or his top-five episodes of Cheers, but he can't figure out why his long-term girlfriend, Laura, has just walked out on him. To understand this latest romantic failure, Rob compiles the ultimate list: his top-five most memorable breakups. This sends him on a quest to track down the women who broke his heart, forcing him to confront his past and his own role in his perpetual state of romantic dissatisfaction.

Set to a soundtrack of pop, rock, and soul, this story is a sharply funny and painfully honest look at love, relationships, and the comfort we find in our obsessions. Rob uses his encyclopedic knowledge of music to make sense of the world, but he soon learns that some things in life can't be neatly categorized or ranked. It is a journey into one man's heart, exploring why we love who we love and what it truly means to commit, not just to another person, but to growing up.
