Last Templar, The **TRUE FIRST**

Many readers found this book to be an engaging and fast-paced thriller, often describing it as enthralling and difficult to put down. It is praised for its ability to weave historical details, particularly concerning the Knights Templar, the Crusades, and the interplay of different religions, into a complex and layered narrative. Some reviewers appreciated the author's writing style, noting its clarity and the balance between drama and historical exposition. The book was also highlighted for inspiring further research into religious history and prompting readers to reflect on their own beliefs. Several reviewers asserted that it offers a more historically grounded and plausible story compared to other popular historical thrillers, with some even calling it superior in its genre.

Conversely, a significant number of readers expressed disappointment, citing several weaknesses. Common criticisms included issues with pacing, with some finding the middle sections to falter or certain scenes, such as diving sequences or historical background exposition, to be excessively long or poorly integrated. Many reviewers felt the characters were underdeveloped or dull, lacking personal depth or consistent motivation, and the romantic subplot was frequently deemed unnecessary or poorly executed. The writing style itself drew strong criticism from some, described as amateurish, simplistic, or too much like a screenplay, leading to a lack of nuance and an over-reliance on summary rather than showing. Furthermore, the plot was often criticized for being predictable, formulaic, or too derivative of other popular thrillers in the genre, with some reviewers identifying significant plot holes or convenient coincidences. The ending, in particular, was a point of contention for many, often described as disappointing, rushed, or unsatisfactory.

Ultimately, "The Last Templar" elicits a widely divided response from readers, balancing strong enthusiasm with significant criticism. While many found it to be a genuinely exciting and thought-provoking historical thriller, others were left unimpressed by its execution and perceived lack of originality. The book seems best suited for readers who enjoy fast-paced adventure stories steeped in historical and religious mystery, particularly those with an interest in the Knights Templar and similar conspiracy theories. Fans of authors like Dan Brown, Steve Berry, and James Rollins, or those looking for a cinematic, escapist read, might find it enjoyable, especially if they approach it without overly high literary expectations.
